My painting for the 6th CEPROME Latin American Congress – Guadalajara 2027

It brings me great joy to share that a painting of mine has been chosen as the official image for the 6th CEPROME Latin American Congress, to be held in Guadalajara from March 2 to 4, 2027.

Marking its 10th anniversary, the Congress is themed "Rebuilding Trust: A Path of Transparency and Responsibility for the Future of the Church." It is co-organized by CEPROME, the Interdisciplinary Commission for the Protection of Minors of the Archdiocese of Guadalajara, UNIVA (The Catholic University), and the Deaf Catholic Youth Initiative for the Americas.

The painting featured on the poster is a Gospel contemplation based on the Ignatian method of "composition of place," which has profoundly shaped my life. It depicts the boat in the storm—with the disciples disoriented—and the figure of the Risen Christ appearing as a light amidst the chaos. It is night, and the waters are turbulent, yet the light breaks through.

To me, this image represents the current moment in the life of the Church: honestly acknowledging the storm while looking toward Christ, who continues to walk upon the waters. Rebuilding trust requires that transparency of light.
