Day Four: The creation of the luminaries.
Genesis 1:14-19 — "Let there be luminaries in the vault of the heavens to separate the day from the night... He made the two great luminaries, the greater to rule the day and the lesser to rule the night, and the stars."
The figure itself—leaning forward, with golden rays emanating from its chest—is the Word, who is placing and ordering things. It is no longer the chaos of the first day.
